Kewl Beans Sistas! Love it….your so techno Lisa!
I love the old fashion ideal too…..what will be left to pass down to future generations if we do away w/ print??? photos?? actual stuff to feel and hold?? and cherish…..case in point….my grandmoms *secret* banana cream cheese pie recipe I found hand written on a scrap piece of paper when I cleaned out her apartment after she passed, (it ended up being a tried and true recipe off the sweetened condensed milk package) she refuse to give it to me and would ALWAYS make me one when I asked about it!! I cherish that piece of paper and it was her secret till the end …..so yes this is way cool but maybe handwritten would be an heirloom in the making….Love you girls! ~Renee
I agree, Renee, with everything you’re saying. I have a couple of giant binders with all my recipes in them. I think if my house caught on fire, I’d grab the binders before, say, my Playstation 3.
Last year, Mom and I did a project for Gamma. She gave us all her favorite recipes. Mom typed them, I formatted them and printed them out, and we made these little booklets for all the women in the entire family for Gamma to pass out on Christmas.
I was really happy to do that because I think passing down recipes is an important part of family culture/tradition/identity.
